Christian Kid’s Club is a caring and child friendly place where children can come to learn more about God and His love for us through Bible study, games, music and crafts. Children from Westwood can ride the bus to church. Children from Mountain View and Blue Ridge can ride to church with responsible parents and adult volunteers. CKC is staffed by loving and dedicated volunteers.

When children first arrive each week they have a little free time. They can play games, sit and talk to friends or work on homework. Then they are given a healthy snack. After everyone has eaten their snack we have Bible study and a craft or game, which reinforces the lesson.

Each week we end our lesson time with sentence prayer. We then sing songs, practice the chimes or on pretty days, go to West Jefferson Park. To insure your child’s safety, parents are required to come to the CKC room to pick up their children.

CKC strives to teach children to care more about each other and the world around them by participating in service projects. We’ve collected food, coats and blankets to be given out at the Sharing Center and children’s books to be donated to children who may not have one.

We’ve been using the Presbyterian Children’s Mission Book as our lesson book. Each lesson gives ideas for service projects. They range from giving to the 2 cents a meal offering, conserving water and electricity, planting trees or flowers, helping with the Adopt a highway program, or participating in the worship service through choir and chimes or being acolytes.

CKC also offers parent’s night out, after school fun days, family bike rides and canoe trips and many other special events during the year.
